Abstract

The present study aims to analyze the war on drugs policy and the popular perception about the procedures and approaches of the military police, through the literary-musical works of the sambista Bezerra da Silva and the critical perspective of the law found on the street. The methodology will make use of bibliographical research, whose theoretical frameworks are related to the Critical Theory of Law, through the perspective proposed by the Law Found on the Street, Sociology and Criminology and the concatenation with some songs that have mention expressed to legal-police procedures in approaches involving drug trafficking: Maloca O Flagrante, A Fumaça Já Subiu Pra Cuca, A Semente, Malandragem dá um Tempo. In this vein, we refer to the problem question of the present research: to what extent is it possible to observe the war on drugs policy, as well as the procedures and approaches of the Military Police through the literary-musical works of Bezerra da Silva and the conceptions presented by the law found in the Street? In this way, the use of legal studies and the use of literature in the analysis and reflection of the legal phenomenon is fundamental for the approximation between legal theory and social practice.
