Abstract

Law and literature can be linked from different perspectives, all valid. Sometimes, the relationship is generated when it is the jurist who creates a literary text, beyond his or her other academic productions. This is the case of the unforgettable Michele Taruffo who, in a short story, recreates the biblical story of Genesis, the Tower of Babel.

The interpretation of this text allows us to question the language and legal work and, consequently, warns about the dangers of deafness and academic isolation. The jurist, if he claims to be such, must open his horizon and, necessarily, reformulate his speech. The isolated study of law is already insufficient, dialogue with other disciplines is essential, with literature, a vital experience.
