METAVERSE: THE NEXT PHASE OF THE GAME
Abstract
The current matrix reflects the real extending into the virtual, merging the digital and analog worlds into the new matrix, with the metaverse as an extension of reality. Alessandro Baricco's "The Game" (2019) proposes a concept of "Game" analyzing law, dividing the technological revolution into Foosball - Pinball - Space Invaders phases, signifying a new legal framework and humanity. The first two phases reside in materiality, progressing into digital and humanitarian transformation. Post-publication, a fourth evolution emerged: the metaverse, altering human behavior and introducing new antagonisms by virtualizing analog reality. This technology, while extending analog reality virtually, poses challenges for law to regulate at the pace of technological advancement, reflecting a dual challenge between law and social needs. This research aims to address the law's struggle to adapt to these evolutions.
