Muito além de artigos: os debates de direito e literatura nos textos da "Cardozo Studies in Law and Literature" (1989-1995)

O presente artigo tem como objetivo mapear os debates presentes nas edições do periódico Cardozo Studies in Law and Literature entre 1989 e 1995, para além dos artigos científicos publicados, se debruçando sobre textos de gêneros variados, como prefácios, introduções, resenhas e outros. A metodologia adotada envolveu a leitura completa das edições desse período, nas quais foram identificados 133 textos, dos quais 39 não eram artigos acadêmicos. Os resultados revelam que os textos destacaram a importância da interdisciplinaridade entre direito e literatura; a relevância da retórica e da liberdade de expressão; e as interseções entre narrativas literárias e questões jurídicas. Algumas divergências sobre a intersecção em direito e literatura também surgiram, ora sendo enfatizado o caráter teórico-filosófico da empreitada, ora salientando o seu uso prático pelos operadores do direito. A conclusão do estudo evidencia que o estudo dessas publicações são tão importantes para compreender a gênese e desenvolvimento do debate quanto a leitura dos artigos científicos voltados ao tema.
